What to Expect During a Couples Session With Amaya Decy Photography
If the thought of standing in front of a camera for an hour makes you nervous, you are definitely not alone. Even as a photographer, I get nervous in front of the camera!
One of the biggest things couples tell me before their session is some version of:
“We are awkward.”
“We do not know how to pose.”
“My significant other hates pictures.”
“We have never done this before.”
That is completely okay! You are not expected to arrive knowing how to model.
That is my job.
During Your Session
I will guide you throughout the entire session.
Instead of expecting you to memorize poses, I use a mixture of posing and prompts to create natural interaction between the two of you.
I might have you walk together, talk to each other, get closer, move around, or do something that creates a genuine reaction.
And yes, I will still make sure we get a few photographs where everyone is looking at the camera.
There is no pressure to perform.
You do not have to show up knowing exactly what to do.
Part of the experience is creating an environment where you can focus on each other instead of worrying about whether you look awkward.
That is one of my favorite parts of couples photography.
I get to take two people who were nervous at the beginning and show them that having their pictures taken can actually be fun.
